Mars Bar Brownies

Mars-Bars were always one of those chocolate bars that my Dad would have hanging around in his late night chocolate bar and I'd steal without him noticing... sorry Dad if you're reading this!

Drizzled with chocolate and filled; but also topped with Mars Bars, this is a dream for anyone who love these gooey, chewy bars!

Ingredients

For the brownies:
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 200g unsalted butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 300g light brown sugar
  • 100g plain flour
  • 45g cocoa powder
  • 300g Mars Bars, cubed and frozen
  • 100g milk chocolate chips
For the topping:
  • 50g melted milk chocolate
  • 1 or 2 chopped-up Mars bars
Equipment
  • 20 x 20cm brownie tin
Method
  1. Preheat your oven to 180C (160C Fan/Gas Mark 4) and line your brownie tin with baking paper.
  2. Melt the butter and dark chocolate together in the microwave until smooth. Leave to cool for a few minutes.
  3. Using an electric or manual whisk, beat together the eggs and sugar for 5 minutes until fluffy.
  4. Pour the butter and chocolate mix into the eggs and fold until well combined.
  5. Add in the flour and cocoa and fold through gently.
  6. Add in the frozen pieces of Mars Bar and fold, ensuring it's fully incorporated. Pour the mixture into the tin and bake in the preheated oven for 25-30+ minutes until the middle of the brownie is not wobbly!
  7. Leave to cool in the tin when done and then drizzle with melted chocolate and top with the additional chopped up Mars Bar.
  8. Make a cuppa, kick your legs up and enjoy this little moment of joy.
